Based On the book series, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting by Joe Ballarini and directed By Rachel Talalay, the movie stars include Tamara Smart (‘Kelly Ferguson’), Oona Laurence (‘Liz Lerue’), Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson (‘Berna Vincent’) and Lynn Masako Cheng (‘Cassie Zhen’) — and I got to Zoom with them to ask them a question after previewing the movie!! I’ll get to that later…

When high school freshman Kelly Ferguson (Tamara Smart) reluctantly agrees to babysit Jacob Zellman (Ian Ho) on Halloween, the last thing she expects is to be recruited into an international secret society of babysitters who protect kids with special powers from monsters. In order to keep Jacob safe from harm, Kelly teams with no-nonsense chapter Vice President Liz Lerue (Oona Laurence), tech genius Berna Vincent (Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson), creature expert Cassie Zhen (Lynn Masako Cheng) and potions master Curtis Critter (Ty Consiglio) to defeat a Boogeyman known as “The Grand Guignol” (Tom Felton), a glamorous witch named “Peggy Drood” (Indya Moore) and their legion of mysterious monsters. This is an action-packed adventure about working together to overcome your fears, and it sure is FUN to watch! Amazing special effects, awesome acting, and lots of suspense — check it out on Netflix today!

Watch it, Babysitters!

Like I said, I was lucky enough to “hang out” with the stars over a Zoom call yesterday for a virtual roundtable discussion with some of the talent from the movie.. They were so nice and fun to talk to, and I learned that movie star kids really are just like us. They have fears and have to work to overcome them just like everyone else.  These stars may not be afraid of monsters, but check out what used to scare them in real life!

Thank you so much to Netflix and of course to all the stars of the movie I sat down with. Hope to see you again for Part Two!! Now, what are you waiting for? Go grab some popcorn and hunt some monsters!
