Waverly here! October is my favorite month, and I just love Halloween! There’s so many “haunted happenings” and lots of pumpkin picking all around the city…but Luna Park’s Halloween Harvest literally has EVERYTHING all in one place – trick or treating, stilt walkers, magic shows,  tattoos, caricatures, balloon twisting, Maniac Pumpkin Carvers (more on them later) and of course all the awesome, thrilling rides!! I was so excited to check it out and even more excited that I got to bring along my friends and fellow Kid Reporters Callum, Gavin, Jake, Olivia, and William along with me to have the best day ever, and I’m so glad I did, because there was something for everyone, and it was just way too much fun for just one Kid Reporter! Right from when we walked in and met up with Chris Soria of Maniac Pumpkin Carvers, who were carving an unbelievable scene out of a pumpkin, we all knew this was going to be one Hauntingly Good Time!

The amazing Chris Soria of Maniac Pumpkin Carvers “carved out” some time for a KidTerview (see it below)!

Jake here!  Luna Park is a great destination for families. It’s easy to get to using your car or the Q subway train. Also, I enjoyed the ice cream treats and being on thrill rides so close to the ocean.  The best part of my day was when I was shooting down the first drop of The Cyclone and the wind was blasting my face and my stomach dropped down to my toes. It was epic and can’t wait to do it again soon.  The Cyclone is a historic, wooden roller coaster and felt like we were sailing through the air. Plus, I purchased a keychain photo to capture the memory forever.  All of the cool Halloween themed decorations and activities like face painting, pumpkin carving, and pumpkin decorating made it even more fun!  Gavin here!  The best part of my day was when I rode the Cyclone for the first time and it was really cool.  I rode it twice and also got an awesome keychain with a picture of my expression. Luna Park is really cool; it is a great place for kids who love roller coasters and even the ones who don’t.  I can’t wait to go back!

Jake and Gavin experience The Cyclone!

Callum here!  During my time at Luna Park, I was so interested when we saw people doing all these things for the Halloween Harvest.  For example, it was so cool to see the person doing the caricatures and the people who were carving pumpkins.  I was also really interested in how they were able to transform the park for the Halloween Harvest by adding hay bales or inflatable decorations and making it look like a whole new world.  I also thought that it was really cool that for the Halloween Harvest they had people walking around dressed in full Halloween  character. Luna Park was so cool and so much fun. There are rides there for all ages and levels of adventure. You can enjoy being immersed in the experience of Halloween characters and decorations to things like fake tattoos or caricatures.

Take a break from all the fun rides and get a caricature!
The best part of my day was a toss up between finding all the characters and trick or treating with them, and road raging on the Coney Island Raceway!

Olivia here!  In Luna park I loved the talent of the pumpkin carvers. They were so talented and they were carving this ginormous pumpkin. They were making a sea monster. I also love the rides like the swings that go in circles. I also love the real feel of Halloween – I mean we even got to go around and trick-or-treat!  Luna park is a fun place – The smiles on all the kids’ faces were also ginormous!  They all had so much fun and you can, too.

William here!  It’s a fun time of year at Luna Park!   There is a lot for kids to do and pirates gave us candy when we trick-or-treated.  The best part of my day was when I got a caricature of myself as Black Panther. I liked getting a tattoo, also.  I can’t wait until I’m tall enough for The Cyclone!

Back to Wave!  This was the BEST.  DAY.  EVER.  I loved going on The Tickler Ride over and over, gliding through the air on the Hang Gliders, picking a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch…

looking up at my very brave friends Gavin and Jake while they were on The Astro Tower  …

Like I said, they’re very brave!
…all the fun Halloween decorations, music, characters and super talented caricaturists and balloon twisters….

I think you can see that everything about this day at Luna Park was perfect! And to make it even MORE perfect, I got to KidTerview Chris Soria of Maniac Pumpkin Carvers who was there carving an unbelievable sculpture out of – well, you know!  Check this out!

Wait until you see their finished product – I don’t want to spoil the surprise!  It’s on display all week so make sure to check it out, and make sure to follow them on Facebook:  @maniacpumpkincarvers and Instagram: @maniacpumpkins

By now I am pretty sure you can see that if you’re looking for all kinds of Halloween Fun in one place, it’s gotta be Halloween Harvest at Luna Park!   Like I said before – BEST. DAY. EVER.
