WWE is our favorite pastime.  It is a passion that we share.

We have been to LIVE events together, watched them on TV, and played all the apps available on our devices.  This is why we wanted to give you a glimpse into the WWE.

The WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment.  The WWE, which was originally called the WWF, was founded in 1963.  The name needed to be changed from WWF due to a lawsuit by the World Wide Fund for Nature.  The original founder of the WWE was Vincent J. McMahon.  Once he passed away, his son Vincent K. McMahon took over.

There are three shows for WWE a week.  On Mondays, they air Monday Night Raw.  On Tuesdays, there is Smackdown Live.  Finally on Wednesdays, there is NXT where the youngest competitors face off and hope to get brought up to Smackdown Live or Monday Night Raw.

There are eight championships belts in WWE today.  They are the following: WWE World Heavyweight, Tag Team, United States, Intercontinental, Womens, NXT, NXT Tag Team, NXT Womens.

Some familiar wrestlers are: The Rock also known as Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.  If you want to learn more about current wrestlers, here are some of them: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Kalisto, and most recently Finn Balor.

WWE is not just for men, there are great woman wrestlers as well, known as, Divas.  Here are some of them: Charlotte, Lita, Trish Stratus, Stephanie McMahon, Paige and Natalya.

Some other facts about WWE are:

  1. The WWE broadcasts in more than 145 countries in more than 30 languages.
  1. WrestleMania is the WWE’s main event that takes place each year. It is the biggest event that helped WWE become popular.
  1. Madison Square Garden (“MSG”) has become one of the most popular places to attend a WWE live event. The first, 10th and 20th WrestleMania events were at MSG.  MSG is also known to be the birthplace Hulkamania.  This term refers to the huge fan base following Hulk Hogan.

Our favorite wrestlers of all time are Daniel Bryan (Zach) and Shawn Michaels (Danny).

Many people make fun of the WWE, saying it is fake. Even though it is staged, we find it entertaining to watch and fun to get to know each and every wrestler. We hope this has inspired you to watch a WWE match or at least got you interested to learn more – there is so much more!
